Portlanders online!

Apart from facebook, here, etc, what else do you look at online?
Do you have own sites?
Blogs?
Do you look at forums?

How do you spend time online? :o)

I use to maintain a site but Facebook and Picassa made hosting pictures so much easier so I stopped. Now, keep up with friends and news with FB and Twitter. There's a handful of sites and forums that I check every day and I do 90% of my shopping online these days too, as well as banking, bill paying, etc.

For the most part, however, it's just a distraction.

I do research on the mysterious parts of portland, I love the ww2 battery placements and I am also very keen to get in touch with the owners of the old dog training and airial aray at the rear of the verne, opposite the high angle battery. I think it is commonly known as the Rotor. Can any one help??

Friend networking mostly..

I have a lot of friends from sites like www.feesch.co.uk (was origionally the uk user group for ICQ) www.wayn.com and of course facebook. Tinkering with twitter, just .

Feesch is a good site & has regular UK meets where I've met & made loads of friends.

I'm a biker, I goto club meets & runs, and like to go to a few rallys every year. I love music & often at gigs mainly around Poole & Bournemouth. Loads of CD's and downloading of MP3's & podcasts. Use the net a lot to keep in touch with mates & gigs & bikers ..etc

I'm also into geocaching (treasure hunting using GPS). (anything involving a gadget & I'm hooked).

And currently trying to ride the reccession looking for a job.

Favorite site has to be Wikepedia. which has to be an amazing resource and concept. Knowlwdge is ao valuable! Even if it can sometimes have flaws :) I love the way wikepedia is peer maintained and so contemporary.
